Beneteau 40.7
The Bruce Farr design 40.7 is a well renowned racer / cruiser and a common sighting on the podium at race events. This sleek race yacht combines race winning efficiency and tactics, alongside the comfort to be had by a cruiser to offer the best of both worlds.
The 40.7’s efficient hull, ergonomic cockpit and powerful rig all provide you with excellent performance on the race course. After a hard day on the water you are then greeted by the luxury of a comfortable cruiser to spend the night on.

Elan 40
The Elan 40, a racer/cruiser designed by Rob Humphreys, is a swift, attractive and easily handled yacht, popular with novices and experienced yachtsmen alike. The Elan 40 has proved herself competitive on the race course against yachts of similar size, and is enjoyable to sail, strong, light and practical yacht.


Who is Hot Liquid Racing and what do you do?
Hot Liquid Racing is a company with a friendly modern approach to yacht racing.
We work hard to provide our clients with the highest quality, professional yachting events.

Hot Liquid Racing offers YOU the chance to take part in the often elitist sport of yacht racing. Joining our crew to sail on board one of our Beneteau 40.7 or Elan 40 yachts you will receive coaching from our experienced and friendly instructors.  We offer race training beforehand to prepare you for your race and enable you to familiarise yourself with the boat and other crew members.

With all safety gear, food and accommodation provided and race entries organised, Hot Liquid offers you an accessible and simple way to join the racing community.

I've only done my Competent Crew, can I come racing with Hot Liquid?
Yes! Our aim is to get you involved with yacht racing. If you feel you want a little extra experience before you cross the start line you can join one of our Race Training courses or race events that include training. One of our friendly skippers will take you through the basics of racing to develop your sailing skills for use during a race, and enable you to have a go at the many positions on board to find one that suits you.

Do all your events include training?
Many of our race packages include training, apart from the shorter weekend events. Whatever your level you are sure to learn from our friendly and experienced skippers. For those of you who would like additional training we offer Race Training weekends designed to develop and improve your skills.

How do I know that the boat is safe?

Our racing yachts are Maritime & Coastguard Agency coded for commercial use. This means that they are inspected annually including a full service of all safety equipment. The yachts also undertake a full out of the water inspection every 5 years.

What should I wear on my sailing event?

You should wear comfortable clothing suitable for sailing. Layers are better than one thick piece of clothing. Fleece layers are great for the colder months. You will find trousers are far more comfortable than jeans. Soft soled trainers, sailing shoes, or waterproof boots will also be required. We provide wet weather gear for race events. 

What else should I bring on my sailing event?
 Upon booking an event  you will receive a Joining Instructions document which includes a list of recommended items to pack for your race. Hot Liquid does not provide bedding for hygiene reasons so a sleeping bag is are required.
Our neighbours at Shamrock Chandlery can supply you with sailing equipment including; gloves, boots, books and general sailing equipment.

Will I sleep on board overnight?
Yes. Sleeping on board is all part of the adventure of yachting.

What is the lower / upper age limit?
We provide events for anyone aged 18 or over.

Do you cater for vegetarians or other specific dietary requirements?
Yes we do cater for vegetarians and other dietary requirements. Simply let us know in the relevant section of our Booking From and we will take care of your catering requirements.

Will I need a Passport?
You will not need your Passport whilst competing in an inshore racing event although it is required during some of our offshore events.

Can I park my car at Hot Liquid?
Our offices have ample Free, secure on site parking available throughout the duration of your event.

Where is Hot Liquid Racing?
Hot Liquid’s Centre and training yachts are based at Shamrock Quay Marina in Southampton. Shamrock Quay is ideally placed for easy access by road, train or plane. We are conveniently located in the central Solent which is our primary racing area. We also offer RYA practical and theory courses in Southampton & Gibraltar.

How should I get to Hot Liquid Racing?
By car: If you have Sat Nav our postcode is SO14 5QL. Alternatively enter our postcode into Route Planner for detailed directions and a map.
By train: Hot Liquid is only a 5 minute taxi ride from Southampton Central station, click here to find train times.
By air: We are 20 minutes from Southampton Airport, click here for flight details.
By coach: Hot Liquid is only a 10 minute taxi ride from Southampton Coach station, click here to find coach times.

I am travelling by train, where is the nearest station?
Our nearest train station is Southampton Central. From London Waterloo, Southampton station is approximately an hour, then a 5 minute taxi ride to Shamrock Quay Marina. Click here to search for train times and fares.

How do I make a booking?
Booking with Hot Liquid Racing is easy! You can call us on 02380 211 914 where one of the team will take your contact and payment details and get you booked on one of our events. We can answer your questions and direct you towards the right event for you.

Do you accept payment by credit & debit cards?
Yes. We accept all debit cards and most major credit cards.
